Our teachings

see what our community is saying!

The teachings by Sarita and Rowan were concepts beyond midwifery training. I thought I was going to learn about basic foundational concepts of birthwork, and I did, but more importantly, what I walked away with was an immense confidence in myself and trust in birth. This training is the return of birth as a physiological process. I am inspired and transformed. Thank you Rowan and Sarita for so beautifully constructing a course rooted in both wise woman medicine and traditional honest midwifery. – Melinda, Attendee

It has taken me a bit to find the words. Our time together holds such magnitude. The changing woman was a highlight for me-really grateful for that send off. Every evening we shared together, I took something new with me. Since then women have been seeking me and in the most organic ways. I have tons of stuff I want to add to my bag but my most prized take away was receiving this lineage from you all.

Missing and loving you all dearly. – Tay, Attendee

I have found myself happy with all the golden nuggets i have learned as a whole ♥️ As far as practical, I added sea weed and manuka. I have shifted perspective on carefully not diluting blood after blood loss. And I know that this is random but a big shift was my conversation about doulas… I found my voice in encouraging sisterhood ♥️ – Monica, Attendee

From the moment I heard about FC4MWs, I knew I had to sit at their feet in person! I’ve sat at their feet virtually for years and always have gleaned wisdom from their stories and leading. Rowan and Sarita have played a crucial role in guiding and teaching the next generation of wise women for more years than I’ve been alive! Their hearts of true service to families and community has been evident in an unwavering way. Any opportunity I get to sit under their fountain of wisdom is time well spent and invested in my own community care! While playing co-host with a Birth Sister in my community I felt well supported! Questions answered promptly and clearly, help brainstorming how to make this Intensive happen, aiding us in building our own community, and collaborative planning for what served our local community best! I’m looking forward to the next time I get to sit with them! – Alisha, Co-host

want to bring an Intensive to your community?

We are looking to bring our Intensives into communities that are ready to shed these outer layers of hierarchy amongst birth workers, and hierarchy within the birthing room. We are looking for hosts that are ready to lead and potentially are already in leadership positions within their community either by hosting their own village prenatals or group skills days.

So we ask, are you prepared to lead your group and community in learning and growth? We are not coming to host and gather your community for you, we are coming to support you in hosting and to offer a new way to look at what you think you already know.

No previous hosting experience required, more so someone willing to put in the work and effort to gather and create this safe and sacred space to learn and grow.
